Four players New York should have at the top of their list

After an extremely disappointing season led to the New York Jets finishing with a 2–14 record, the only way is up. While the team could, and will look to build through the draft, free agency is also a valuable resource. The good news for New York is not many teams are better positioned to improve through free agency. The Jets are projected to have the second-highest amount of cap space this offseason according to overthecap.com (around $75 million after cutting Henry Anderson). The question is which players does general manager Joe Douglas have at the top of his list. …

Will the league’s hottest team cause chaos in the postseason?

Winners of 21 out of their last 23 games, the Utah Jazz currently have the NBA’s best record at 25–6. So is it time to anoint Utah as title favorites? Let’s first look at how they’ve gotten where they are.

The Jazz are the definition of a team. They don’t rely on multiple superstars to carry the load. Yes Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are All-Star caliber players. They however, wouldn’t garner the superstar ranking in most people’s eyes. Mitchell, who is the team’s leading scorer averaging 24.5 points, is just 17th in the league scoring. …

How will the trade impact both franchises?

Well it’s official, the Carson Wentz era in Philadelphia is over. The Eagles sent the former number two overall pick to Indianapolis in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick, and a conditional 2022 second-round pick. The 2022 selection has the possibility of becoming a first rounder if Wentz plays at least 75% of the Colts’ offensive snaps, or if he plays 70% and Indianapolis makes the playoffs.

The question everyone is asking however, is who won the trade?

I’m not quite sure there is a winner in this trade. Instead I will look at how the trade will impact both…

Which players will make up this year’s top ten?

It’s been a week since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. That means mock draft season is in full swing. With that being said, the Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock.

  1. Jacksonville: Trevor Lawrence (QB, Clemson)

The worst kept secret in sports is who Jacksonville will select with the number one pick. Everyone knows Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence will be the pick, despite the Jaguars saying they’re evaluating everyone. Jacksonville needs a quarterback. Lawrence will be their guy.

2. New York Jets: Zach Wilson (QB, BYU)

How did Brady and the Buccaneers shut down Kansas City?

While some people (myself included), might’ve expected a blowout in the Super Bowl, I don’t think many thought it would happen this way. I imagine most individuals like myself predicted the Chiefs would repeat as champions. I even thought Kansas City could win by upwards of ten points. Boy was I wrong.

Instead of the Chiefs hoisting the Lombardi trophy for the second year in a row, it was the Buccaneers who were victorious. Tampa Bay didn’t only win, they embarrassed Kansas City 31–9.

The real question is how?

In the week 12 matchup, Kansas City jumped out to a…

Which team will hoist the Lombardi Trophy this Sunday?

After speculation on whether or not there would even be an NFL season, we find ourselves just two days away from Super Bowl Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to repeat as champions, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hosting the first “home” Super Bowl. The matchup couldn’t be much better. We get to see the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady face off against the brightest young star and future G.O.A.T. candidate Patrick Mahomes.

But whose team will have the edge on Sunday?

Let’s start with the Kansas City Chiefs. KC was magical this season. They only lost one…

Which players are at the forefront of the MVP race?

While it may feel like the NBA bubble just ended a couple weeks ago, here we are almost a third of the way through this year’s regular season. Some games have unfortunately been postponed. The show however, has gone on, and what a show it’s been. Some teams have been pleasant surprises, while others have struggled to live up to expectations. Players have also begun making a case for a potential MVP award in the future. Below I will name the top three candidates for this year’s MVP so far.

Honorable Mention: Lebron James

Remembering Kobe Bryant one year after his tragic death

*This is a repost of mine from February 19th, 2020*

April 13th, 2016. With 4.1 seconds left on the clock, the world watched in awe as a legend left the court one final time. Kobe Bryant had been substituted for the last time in his career. Chants of “MVP” and “Kobe” occupied the arena. Stars ranging from Shaq to Jack Nicholson to Snoop Dogg had filled the Staples Center on that April night for an opportunity to see greatness one last time. They did not leave dissatisfied. Bryant had just capped off a record-setting performance in his final game. Kobe…

Milwaukee already appears destined for the same postseason fate

While it’s still early in the NBA season, Milwaukee Bucks fans should start tempering expectations. This team is not going to win the championship. The Bucks currently sit third in the Eastern Conference with a record of 9–6. The team’s record itself shouldn’t necessarily spark concern. Their play against other top teams this season however should.

The issue for Milwaukee is never against average or below average teams. The Bucks typically roll these teams whenever they play them. This also continues into the postseason, as they usually handle the eighth seed with ease. Milwaukee’s issues start once they face a…

Houston’s superstar could change everything for New York

While the NFL playoffs would typically be enough to get football fans buzzing, an even bigger story has arose. Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson is reportedly extremely unhappy with the organization. This news is also followed with some sources believing Watson may have played his last game with the franchise.

Enter almost every team’s fanbase clamoring for a Deshaun Watson trade.

While Watson would be an upgrade to perhaps all but two NFL franchises, one team makes the most sense: the New York Jets.

New York has been seeking a star quarterback since the days of Joe Namath. Well…
